Andrew Brown has 45 years experience in the equities markets as a stockbroker, corporate investor and funds manager with experience in London, New York and Australia.   He has served on 14 Australian listed company boards, mainly of smaller companies. 

Andrew’s sell side experience was mainly as a banks and insurance analyst for Baring Securities and County NatWest.  On the buy side, Andrew was a Director and Head of Equities at Rothschild Australia Asset Management for five and a half years (including successor companies) engineering a significant turnaround in the performance of the domestic equity portfolios. 

In late 2022, after extensive research, Andrew established East 72 Dynasty Trust to invest exclusively in global securities with controlling stockholders, such as families or management, to capture the long-term benefits of such businesses.  Dynasty Trust is long only and does not hedge in any way but applies minimum and maximum portfolio holding limits.  Andrew writes a long form, highly regarded quarterly letter focusing exclusively on one or more securities held in the portfolio.

Andrew has an honours degree majoring in economics and econometrics from the University of Manchester, England and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

His family owns vineyards in Bordeaux and in the Rhône Valley, among others a prestigious First Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Émilion: Château Figeac. 

After work experiences at a fine wine merchant in Bordeaux and at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Paris, he made a thesis on wine investment.

Born in the wine region and trained in finance, he decided to consolidate his two passions by creating Carpe-Vinum.

Django Davidson is a Portfolio Manager and Founding Partner of Hosking Partners. The firm was founded in 2013 to continue to pioneer the Capital Cycle approach to investing developed in the early 1980s by Jeremy Hosking and team at Marathon Asset Management.

Django spent his first three years working alongside Jeremy in Dublin before moving to London. Prior to joining Hosking Partners, Django was a Partner at Algebris Investments LLP, one of the three funds backed by the Children’s Investment Fund (TCI). He began his career at Deutsche Bank, where he served as Director in the bank equity research team.

Django is a host of Hosking Partners’ Capital Cyclists podcast, as well as appearing as a regular guest on external productions, including being a repeat contributor to Schroder’s Value Perspective Podcast. He has been featured in a variety of major investment publications, including the Financial Times, Bloomberg, Investment Week, and Value Investor Insight.

Django has been a repeat presenter at the New York Value Investor Conference, the London Value Investor Conference, and the Capstone Student Investment Conference at the University of Alabama.

Joan Esteve Manasanch is the chief investment officer at Gesinter and an experienced investment professional in asset management, portfolio strategy, and financial analysis.
Before joining Gesinter, he was co-founder and chief investment officer of the mutual fund Alondra Capital. Earlier roles include portfolio manager at Silverhead Capital in London and Senior Analyst at ING in between Barcelona and Amsterdam, where he specialised in credit risk, corporate valuation and project finance.

Alongside his investment career, Joan is an investments professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and previously taught at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He holds a master’s in Finance (Investments specialisation) from London Business School—graduating with Distinction (Top 10)—and dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Business Administration (Finance) from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

Kartik Kumar is a portfolio manager and member of the investment team at Phoenix. He joined Phoenix in 2024 following the merger of Aurora and Artemis Alpha Trust. 

Prior to joining Phoenix, he spent 12 years at Artemis Investment Management where he managed various funds including the Artemis Alpha Trust (UK equities) and Strategic Assets Fund (long/short developed markets).

Christian has managed Nordic equities funds for 25 years. He has managed long-only Pareto Nordic Equity (PNE) since 2020 and long-short funds since 2003, which have been merged into PNE.

He has previously worked as analyst in Carnegie and Alfred Berg (Moscow), head of research at SEB and fund manager in Aker Invest and Orkla Finans.

He has a CEFA and Master’s degree in Finance from NHH and Universitat de Barcelona. Christian also has an officer degree in the Armed Forces, where he also studied Russian.

Richard Oldfield is chairman of a boutique investment management firm, Oldfield Partners LLP and of Shepherd Neame Ltd.; a trustee of the King’s Trust and other charities. 

He was the first chairman of Oxford University Endowment Management Ltd from 2007-14 and his book about investment, Simple but not easy, was published in 2007 (second edition 2021). In Spain it was published as Que sea sencillo no significal que sea facil in 2023.

In spare time he walks, reads, writes and chainsaws.

Jaume is Managing Director and Investment Director of GVC Gaesco Gestión SGIIC and GVC Gaesco Pensiones SGFP. He directly manages various investment funds and SICAVs. He joined GVC Gaesco in 1995 and over the years has won 24 awards for investment management, 18 of which correspond to funds managed personally, 5 to the management company as its investment director and one more, on an individual basis, as the best equity manager of the decade 2000-2010. He began his professional career in 1989 at Fibanc, he subsequently worked as an actuary at Banco Vitalicio and in 1995 joined Gaesco. He was analyst, head of research, manager, Investment Director and Managing Director of Gaesco Gestión, S.G.I.I.C., positions he has held since 2000. He currently directly manages various investment funds and SICAVs, both equity and absolute return.

Jaume has two degrees in Economics and Actuarial Science from the University of Barcelona. He is a CEFA, EFPA and ICMB Fixed Income Portfolio Management.

He is vice-president of Inverco Catalunya. He has collaborated with various entities: IESE, ESADE, Barcelona GSE, IEF, UdL, Col·legi Economistes, Col·legi Actuaris… As part of his volunteer work, he is a member of the Investment Committee of the VHIR Foundation (Vall d’Hebron Research Institute) and the Investment Committee of the Sant Pau Research Institute, among others.

With a degree in Business Administration from the European Business School, Luis Urquijo has been the Chief Executive Officer of Muza Gestión SGIIC since 2018. For the last fifteen years, he has been permanently involved in monitoring and analysing listed companies, both nationally and in Europe, always under the philosophy of value investing. 

From 2014 until joining Muza Gestión de Activos, he was Investment Director at Ábaco Capital, and prior to that he spent eight years as a managing partner at Horizon Capital advising various investment vehicles. Among other positions, he has been Chief Executive Officer of La Muza Inversiones SICAV since 2011. He has also held various positions related to the world of financial markets at Ahorro Corporación Financiera, BBVA Bolsa, Banesto Bolsa and CV Corporate Finance.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Management from IE and PADE from IESE.

Ben joined Arcus Investment in 2020, and he’s currently Co-Portfolio Manager of the Arcus Japan Fund. Previously, he was an Investment Director at GAM Investment Management and Fund Manager at RSA, and has more than 27 years experience. He received a BA (Hons) degree in Economics from Durham University and a MSc degree in Investment Analysis from Stirling University.
