Daniel Abrahams is the Managing Partner at Alfreton Capital, where he invests in businesses alongside a group of long term co-investors. Daniel established Alfreton Capital in 2013. He has over 20 years experience across alternative investments and corporate finance, and has worked at top performing investment managers, Deutsche Bank and Arthur Andersen. 

He is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Masters from the University of Oxford, where he graduated with First Class Honours in Economics and Management.

Born in 1977 in Madrid, Andrés took a degree in business administration at his home city’s Universidad Complutense; he is also a CFA Charterholder. He started his career in 2001 at Credit Suisse in Madrid. He later worked as portfolio manager for traditional and long/short funds in Madrid, Zürich, London and Edinburgh, with Credit Suisse, RAB Capital, Allianz Global Investors, Standard Life Investments and Cobas. 

A keen tennis player and a lover of the outdoors, he finds his greatest enjoyment in family life.

Pavel Begun is a co-founder of 3G Capital Management, a private investment partnership that invests in undervalued securities around the world.  The firm has been in business since 2004, and over that time frame is has produced a track record of significant outperformance vs. its benchmark indices.

Andrew Brenton is the CEO and a co-founder of Turtle Creek. Previously, Mr. Brenton founded and was the CEO of the private equity subsidiary of The Bank of Nova Scotia where he invested $300 million in control positions of a dozen Canadian private companies. Mr. Brenton was head of the high technology investment banking practice of Scotia Capital in the early 1990’s and prior to that, he was a founding member and Managing Director in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice. Mr. Brenton joined McLeod Young Weir (the predecessor to Scotia Capital) in 1984.

Mr. Brenton received his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario) in 1984 and his B.Sc. from Mount Allison University in 1980.

 

Andreas is portfolio manager of the global equities fund Coeli Global Select since 2014. Previously he worked as a sell side analyst for Nordea and Kepler Chevreux and as portfolio manager at Capital Group in London. He also did work as a M&A analyst in ABB in China.

Mr Brock is MBA from the London Busines School, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lund University and CFA Charterholder. He was previously member of the Board of CFA Sweden and president of the Londos Business School Alumni Chapter Sweden. He is also author of the book “You vs the Market”.

Colin Casey joined Vulcan Value Partners in 2017 as an Associate Analyst. In 2020, Colin was promoted to Analyst and is responsible for equity research.

Prior to joining Vulcan Value Partners, Colin worked as a business teaching fellow at the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology in Ghana. In his time there, he delivered lectures to future entrepreneurs in topics ranging from financial modeling to competitive dynamics. Colin began his career as an analyst at Croft & Bender, a boutique investment bank specializing in middle market mergers and acquisitions and private capital raising.

Colin earned his MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and holds a BS in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Born in Madrid, Spain, Marcos Hernández Aguado holds a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE E-2).

Marcos began his career as a financial analyst in 1993, going through several brokerage firms and covering most of the listed sectors, before joining Merrill Lynch in 1999 as a senior analyst of the Construction and Materials team, consistently ranked among the top three in the Institutional Investors’ survey. He was the top-rated analyst in the Construction sector in 2001 and 2002 (Greenwich survey) and in Small Caps Europe in 2002 (Reuters).

In 2005 Marcos decided to move to fund management within Merrill, joining Merrill Lynch Strategic Investment Group (SIG) as Director. Within SIG he managed a long-short equity fund and a long-only strategic investment fund, becoming a member of the SIG Investment Committee. In March 2008, he joined the Swiss asset manager SIA Funds as a senior analyst, being promoted to head of research, co-manager, and finally CIO. Based in Lachen (Zurich), he is currently a partner in SIA Funds.

 

Alberto Jimenez Crespo is a Principal, Portfolio Manager, member of the Aristotle Capital research team and a veteran of the investment industry. Prior to joining Aristotle Capital, Alberto was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Vinik Asset Management, LP and at Tradewinds Global Investors, LLC. While at Tradewinds, Alberto was a key member of the Global All-Cap strategy, and Co-PM of the International Strategy and Global Natural Resource strategy. During his tenure, these three strategies received Lipper awards for top ranking in their respective categories. Prior to Tradewinds, Alberto was an Equity Analyst at Merrill Lynch; and sell-side Equity Analyst at Salomon Smith Barney.

Alberto earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mining Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and his Master of Science degree in Mineral Economics from Colorado School of Mines. He is a CFA® charterholder and fluent in Spanish.

Outside of work, Alberto is the co-founder of the Wild Orchid Foundation a 501©(3) charitable organization that dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in Cebu, Philippines through arts and education. Alberto is also a member and mentor of the Blue Heron Foundation that provides an education to orphaned and abandoned children in Romania and Moldova.

Antonio Manzano, CFA, ESG CFA, has a degree in BA Business Economics from the University of Exeter (UK).

Antonio has more than 10 years of experience in financial markets. He previously worked at BANIF and HSBC as Equity Sales and later at Allianz Popular Asset Management as manager of Equity Investment Funds (Spanish and European mandates) at Santalucía Asset Management.

 

Raphaël Moreau is a fund manager at Amiral Gestion since 2008. He focuses on European small & mid capitalizations where he likes analyzing under-researched companies, and stocks in “contrarian zipcodes”. 

Prior to joining Amiral Gestion, he had experiences as a sell-side analyst at UBS in London and as a fixed income financial analyst at Calyon. Raphaël is a 2007 graduate of Essec Business School.

 

Alejandro Muñoz is one of the founders, owners and also fund manager at Equam Capital. Prior to launching Equam, he worked for 8 years as a portfolio manager at March Gestión and Angulo Verde Sicav. Before that, he worked 7 years as a director at Corporación Financiera Alba on private & public equity investments and 3 years as a M&A analyst at Bankers Trust.

Alejandro holds a Degree in Law and one in Business Administration from Icade and a Master in Public Policy. Currently Alejandro is also teaching Value Investing at the OMMA University, Madrid.

Bob Robotti is the founder of Robotti & Company Advisors, a NYC-based US registered advisor. We are dyed-in-wool value investors who buy companies at valuations far below replacement value. We focus on cyclical businesses that have consolidated and are positioned for dramatic growth recoveries. Today, in an era we see as ‘The Revenge of the Old Economy’ we’re invested in businesses with Graham-Dodd valuations with Buffett-esque ‘better’ business attributes.

We are long term investors who frequently nurture supportive relationships with our investments. As an example, Bob currently sits on the boards of AMREP Corporation (NYSE:AXR), Tidewater (TDW:NYSE), PrairieSky (TSX:PSK) and also is the Chairman of the board of Pulse Seismic Data Inc. (TSX: PSD). Prior to founding Robotti & Company in 1983, he was the CFO of Gabelli & Company. Before that, Bob was a CPA auditing many investment advisors, most notably Tweedy, Browne. He holds a BS from Bucknell University and an MBA from Pace University.

 

Alirio Sendrea, CFA is an Investment Analyst at Invexcel, a multi‐family office based in Madrid (Spain) he joined in 2015. Invexcel advices two SICAVs with a focus on mid- and small-caps based in Europe. Before that he spend 10+ years in Financial Analysis, Auditing, Restructuring and Treasury working for Barclays, Deloitte, KPMG, and Procter & Gamble.

Alirio has been a CFA Charterholder since 2014 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (2004). He is a Lecturer at EADA Business School, where he teaches a Value Investing class.

Ole is one of the main investors and manages the AC Vision Fund that focuses on growth clusters while using GARP as its investment method. He also runs Nordic Investment Partners that offers advice to family trusts and businesses.  He began his career in 1984 when he founded Dansk Aktie Analyse (independent research boutique in Copenhagen).  From 1985 to 1999 he was analyst, fund manager and sales mainly with Carnegie and Alfred Berg.  From 1999 to 2010 he was Head of IR with telco TDC and Tryg Insurance, before returning to asset management as fund manager and Chief Investment Officer in Skagen funds in Norway from 2011-17. From 2018-22 he was Chairman of the Danish Shareholders Association. 

Ole has an MBA from Copenhagen Business School as well as IMD and INSEAD courses.

Julio Utrera, CFA joined Southeastern’s London Office as an Analyst in 2021. He has 9 years of investment experience and previously held investment research roles in T. Rowe Price International Equities and AnaCap Financial Partners. Prior to that, he was an M&A Analyst at J.P. Morgan’s Investment Banking division in London.

Mr. Utrera received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from C.U.N.E.F University and a master’s degree in Value Investing from OMMA Business School. He holds his CFA Level 4 Certificate in ESG Investing.

 

Carlos has a degree in Business Administration and Mangaement from the University of Zaragoza and a Master´s in Fanance from the ICMA Center of the University of Reading, United Kingdom.

He has more than 20 years of expereince as an investment fund manager. He began his professional career in 2002 at Ibercaja Gestión. Later he joined the BBVA Group until in 2013 he was a founding partner of Augustus Capital. Currently he is the manager of MyInvestor Value FI, a value investment fund with its own method based on the Value Creation of the companies.

 

James joined Phoenix in 2013 and became a Partner shortly thereafter. James also manages The Huginn Fund, which is our “performance fee only” international strategy and, like all the members of the investment team at Phoenix, he will always be an analyst at heart looking after holdings in both the core strategy and the Huginn Fund. His prior experience was at Aviva Investors within the Pan European Equity team.

Outside of work, James enjoys running, travelling, collecting Hornby trains and is a cat enthusiast.
